I wanted to let all my fabulous Oakville clients know about an amazing exhibit that will be happening in their own swanky town ! .. Fellow local artist Supria Karmakar will be exhibiting a new series of work in Oakville, at The Bean There Cafe, 106 Reynolds St., tel: 905.845.2928 they will be displayed at the cafe starting Friday Feb. 9th with new additions to follow building to up to a reception gathering being held Sunday March 16th 2 - 4 p.m. at the cafe.

and a little about it in Supria's words

I was a volunteer with Canadian Crossroads International (CCI)in 1991 and went to India, Nepal, Thailand and crossed the border of Burma....I have used some of these photos in a new series of work that
I am calling the "Sacred Journey". The "Sacred Journey" series features encaustic mixed media collage work. These pieces explore connections to the sacred, in relation to people, nature, oneself and
the divine.

CCI works to stop HIV/AIDS, combat poverty and promote the rights of
women in West Africa, Southern Africa and South America. By working
in partnership with community-based organizations in the global South
and facilitating the exchange of skilled volunteers, CCI promotes
effective communication and cooperation across borders to address
these pressing global issues.

In recognition of CCI's 50th anniversary - Ten percent of all art
sales made at the café over the next three months will be donated to
CCI. For more information on CCI please visit: www.cciorg.ca
