.... sooooo I have to tell you 8 things about me .... since i have been such a bad blogger i'm going to do one a day to force me to blog more .... and to help me to think what to say !!

Fact #1 .... my husband and I hated each other .... i don't mean mildly dislike one another ... we couldn't even be in the same room together !!! ... some weird alignment of the moon and the stars lead us on a date and we have been together ever since ... 17 years together 15 married ... we figure we have such a great marriage cause we did it backwards ... kinda like the divorce first .....

.. just a few reminders that this weekend and next weekend the studio will be open during the Elora Fergus studio tour from 10 to 6 .. drop in and see some new work ... hear about some plans for 2008 .... enter to win a studio tour give away ... and have your picture taken ... lots of fun stuff happening !! .... also I will be in Collingwood October 26th to 28th and will be available for a couple sessions, if interested please email ... studio@sherivisakaly.com

.. a dear friend of mine is helping to bring awareness to the African AIDS pandemic and, in particular, its profound effect on women and children, she has arranged a screening of 2 documentaries at the Elora Gorge Theatre on Sept. 20, 2007 at 8:00.  Grandmothers:  The Unsung Heroes of Africa and A Generation of Orphans.  Grandmothers premiered at the Grandmother's Gathering in August 2006 and both cover many aspects of the catastrophe in Africa, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa.  The Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign in Canada is doing amazing work to help grandmothers in Africa. ...  if you are local please mark this on your calendar to attend .... we all can do our own small part to help to make a difference ... if you are not local please look into how you can help in your community ....

... meet Lilly ... she is our families little girl ... and she is very excited about an organization called the Centre Wellington Dog Park Associations and their efforts to start a dog park in Centre Wellington !!! .... ... the fair

... i love the fair .. the rides ... the excitement !! ... i have always wanted to do a family session at the fair ... soooooooooo    if you are up for a crazy session hanging out at the fair this weekend .... be the first to email me ... the session fee is on me !!!!

... i love hooking up with girlfriends and going out for dinner and drinks ... i have a few fav spots to go to and now i am so excited that a friend of mine is opening a new restaurant in town .... all you locals will remember it as the old wellington advertiser house ...  well this fall it will be van galis THE place to go .... two great owners  ....   amazing food ... and atmosphere that makes you feel like you never want to leave .. or at least come back time and time again !    ..... i have been so so so lucky to have THE most amazing clients ....  soooooo ....  just before christmas i am going to draw a name out of a hat of all my clients in 2007 to win a $100 gift certificate from Van Galis from me !!!   AND ... a $100 gift certificate from the studio !!! ... book your session soon !!!

.. lots of newborns !!! .... i will be starting to take a limited number of newborns a month so if you are planning on having me photograph your new little one just let me know and i will pencil you in for that window of the month ....

... fall schedule

.. my fall schedule should be opened up soon ... thank you to everyone for their patience in waiting to book a date .... if you want to be on the fall list for scheduling please send me an email you will be the first ones to grab the weekend dates that i have available ... i am also scheduling a saturday in october for a half hour mini session .... great for that christmas card picture ! .... i will have that date and info available soon ... reminder that i will once again be on the elora fergus studio tour pop in for a visit ... september 22,23,29 & 30th .... i am tossing around having the faces of the tour project and twisting everyones arm for a quick photo while they are there .... lots of fun .... give aways ... and prizes to be won .... i am still trying to get things organized early to have a wine and cheese night on the friday night ... let me know if you would love love love to be on the invite list and then maybe i will really get things organized so as to not let you down !

.. back to school

... wow its hard to believe its back to school already !!! ... the summer seemed to just fly by did it not ... i really have mixed emotions about today ... i am happy that i will be able to organize my time again .... that is always good ... but so sad that summer is officially over ... is it a getting older thing that makes time fly ... i remember when i was a kid it seemed like summer lasted forever ... well heres to looking forward to next summer !!
